The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced a 3-day ministry-wide prayer and fasting event to seek divine assistance for national protection and food security.
An internal memo dated June 11, 2025, and signed by Mrs. Adedayo Modupe, the Director of Human Resource Management, indicated that directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, value chain desk officers, and ministry staff are expected to participate in the 3-day prayer and fasting session.
The initiative is titled: “Divine Intervention for protection and national development.”
Modupe stated that the purpose of the prayer session is to seek God’s guidance and support for the government’s efforts to establish stable and sustainable food systems throughout the nation.

The prayer sessions are set to take place at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on three Mondays: June 16, 23, and 30, 2025, respectively.
The memo, requested that staff attend the sessions, while fasting to prepare for a spiritual appeal in addressing the growing challenges in agriculture and food security.
“This is to invite all staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to a solemn prayer session for God’s guidance and success in supporting the government’s efforts to achieve food security.
“Please come fasting on Mondays, June 16, 23, and 30, 2025,” the memo stressed.
