The Abia State Road Traffic and Safety Management Agency has reported a tragic road accident in the Mmuri axis of Ohafia Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of six individuals.
The incident occurred when a trailer loaded with chippings collided with a Toyota Sienna bus carrying nine passengers.
The agency’s spokesman, Mr. Nelson Anya stated that officials, led by the General Manager, Col. Ezichi Kalu (rtd.), responded promptly to the scene to provide assistance by deploying a crane and two towing vans, to rescue victims and manage the situation.

“Regrettably, six individuals lost their lives on the spot, one passenger sustained severe injuries, while two others suffered varying degrees of injuries,” he said.
The agency condoled the families of the deceased and those affected by the incident, wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
Also, it announced that the road had been cleared and reopened to traffic, urging motorists to drive cautiously and comply with traffic regulations to prevent future tragedies.
