The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Project Monitoring and Audit, Dr. Goodnews Agbi has inspected the Orere-Ovu Bridge under construction by Obakpo Engineering Company Limited and other projects.
Projects inspected include the construction of Orere-Ewu bridge at Ewu Ughelli South Local Government Area, Oreh Road from Isoko junction in Ughelli North Local Government Area and Edo Road from Isoko Road to Agbarho-Otor.
Agbi was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Directorate of Project Monitoring and Audit, Mrs Esejo, Chief Francis Ighoraye (EA), Sir Boniface Imodje (SSA), Pastor Ken Otuya(SSA), Engr Yebu Ladina and his Special Assistant, Mr Odio Odafe.
Briefing the delegation, Olorogun John Oguma, the chairman of Obakpo Engineering Limited said the construction of the bridge was done by Nigerian specialists.
Agbi and his team who were impressed by the job done by the indigenous contractor said they are satisfied by the fantastic parabolic bridge with perfect abutments, peers and the precast beams.

He said, “If Nigerian contractors, Nigeria consultants and engineers can perform this feat, Nigeria is on the part of greatness”.
He further said that every indigenous contractor should strive to put up their best to align with the MORE Agenda of the Governor Oborevwori-led administration.
He added that every Civil Engineering student should try to visit the Orere-Ovu Bridge and see what indigenous Engineering company, Obakpo Engineering has achieved.
Agbi commended the contractor for vigorously working in all three sites visited.
