6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), in collaboration with Operation SAFE HAVEN, have again neutralized two armed bandits and recovered approximately 1,000 rustled cattle in Taraba State.
In a statement made available to journalists yesterday by the acting spokesperson of the Brigade, Captain Oni Olubodunde, as the achievement was made possible following genuine information made available to the troops by some good Samaritans.
“Acting on credible intelligence, troops swiftly responded to reports of about 30 bandits on motorcycles crossing from Plateau into Taraba State. The attackers had targeted a Fulani settlement near Jebjeb Village in Karim Lamido Local Government Area in a cattle rustling operation.

The joint forces mobilized and advanced toward Komodoro village in Karim Lamido LGA. Upon arrival, they engaged the fleeing bandits in a firefight near the Daji Madam Forest across the river boundary in Plateau State. Two bandits were killed during the encounter, and all stolen livestock were successfully recovered,” the statement read.
The recovered cattle, as announced by the troops, were safely relocated to the Jebjeb community, pending identification and verification to ensure their return to rightful owners.
Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, praised the swift and coordinated action of the troops and reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to eradicating criminal threats in the region.
He called on the public to continue providing timely and accurate information to aid security operations.
The operation, as emphazied by the army, marks another success in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across Taraba and neighboring states.
