The incident, which occurred Thursday night and lasted into early hours of Friday, also saw livestock and other valuables carted away by the terrorists.

It was learnt that the terrorists, who attacked at least five villages within the ward, had wielded automatic weapons and rode on motorcycles.

House of Assembly member from the area, Hon Aminu Ibrahim Saidu, confirmed the incident on Saturday.

Saidu said he had since visited affected communities and sympathised with families of the deceased and wounded victims.

The incident comes after series of attacks in recent weeks in which lives were lost, houses set ablaze, while livestock and household items were carted away by the terrorists.

The Trumpet recalls that at least 20 people were killed about a week ago, in Faksari council area, while 12 lost their lives in Safana few days ago, with several others injured in both attacks.

Spokesperson for the police command in the state, SP Gambo Isah was yet to respond to inquiry on the incident as at time of this report.
