Nigerian Afrobeats singer Crayon has stirred widespread speculation about his future with Mavin Records after a series of controversial posts on the social media platform X triggered intense debate among fans and industry observers.
The posts, shared late Sunday, quickly went viral and raised questions about whether the artist was expressing frustration with the label or hinting at a possible departure after several years under its management.
In one post that gained significant traction online, Crayon wrote, “Don Jazzy na my boy… Mavin is going down,” a statement that sparked strong reactions across social media. The comment drew particular attention because Don Jazzy, the founder of Mavin Records, is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s music industry.
Despite the criticism directed at the label, Crayon appeared to separate his concerns from his personal relationship with the music executive. In another post, the singer stated that he still holds affection for Don Jazzy but believes certain individuals within the label’s inner circle may be contributing to internal challenges.
The posts also hinted at a possible shift in the singer’s career direction. In a separate message, Crayon referenced a new venture with the words “Olodum Entertainment. New era,” prompting speculation among fans that he may be preparing to launch his own imprint or pursue a more independent path within the music industry.
