Plans have been concluded by the Taraba State government, to collaborate with the German Development Agency to advance sustainable agricultural practices in the state.
The Trumpet gathered that the State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, have sought partnership with the Country Director of the agency in Nigeria, Dr Markus Wagner,
Speaking, yesterday, at a meeting with the country director in Nigeria, the governor noted that Agriculture and food security are the cornerstone of every society.
Reeling out, how the State is blessed with huge potential which needs the collaboration of the German Development Agency to achieve its full potential, his administration, he said would tread extra legitimate paths to ensure that the partnership sought, sees the lights of the day.
According to the Governor, the state is on a journey to advance sustainable agricultural practices considering the vital role agriculture plays in the economy and livelihood of the people.
Other areas suggested by the governor for collaborations with the agency include renewable energy, critical infrastructures, women and youth empowerment, and mining among others.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to work tirelessly round the clock to make the state safer for investors.
On his part, the Country Director of the German Development Agency, Dr Markus Wagner, assured the Taraba State government of support and partnership.
The state, it would be recalled, had earlier sought a partnership with the United States African Development Foundation USADF to develop key sectors for poverty reduction in the state.
The partnership, as made known by the governor, is geared towards collaborating with USADF to advance opportunities for growth and development in the state.
