The African Democratic Congress has announced the composition of its 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, a major step in the party’s drive to present itself as a credible alternative for national leadership.
The committee was constituted following the approval of the National Working Committee and endorsed by the National Chairman of the party, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, in line with the ADC’s commitment to developing a people-focused and forward-looking policy agenda for Nigeria.
According to the party, the Policy and Manifesto Committee is made up of a broad spectrum of respected Nigerians, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and professionals drawn from different sectors of national life. The ADC said the diversity and depth of experience represented on the committee reflect its resolve to address Nigeria’s challenges through competence, integrity, and informed national consensus.
The committee will be chaired by former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, with renowned economist and public intellectual, Professor Pat Utomi, serving as Deputy Chairman. Former APC National Vice Chairman, Salihu Lukman, will serve as Secretary of the committee.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullah, and made available to journalists. The statement explained that the committee has been tasked with articulating a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that captures the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a serious platform for national renewal and responsible governance.
The party also announced that the formal inauguration of the committee will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
