The Adamawa State Police Command has called on social media users to verify information before sharing, warning against the spread of false or misleading narratives.
The caution comes in response to reports circulating online about an alleged encounter between the governor’s convoy and armed robbers.
According to the police, these claims are inaccurate and lack factual basis.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the command clarified that the incident occurred on December 19, 2024, during which the advance security vehicle of the Adamawa State governor’s convoy encountered a roadblock set up by armed robbers while returning from Taraba State.
The advance vehicle, which was ahead of the main convoy as part of standard VIP security protocols, was said to have arrived at the scene where traffic had been halted by the robbers, forcing commuters to stop.
“Demonstrating swift professionalism, the officers in the advance team acted promptly, chasing away the robbers, clearing the road, and ensuring the safety of all travelers.
