The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security across the state ahead of a planned protest by the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the deployment of personnel to strategic locations and critical infrastructure is part of proactive measures to protect lives and property and maintain law and order.
Nguroje explained that the police, working closely with other security agencies, have commenced a joint operation and “show of strength” along major routes and public areas.

Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, urged residents to remain calm and go about their lawful activities, assuring them that security agencies are fully prepared to ensure peace across the state.
“The Command reiterates its commitment to protecting human rights while ensuring that any attempt to disrupt public peace will be addressed firmly and professionally,” the statement read in part.
The police further appealed to the public to cooperate with security operatives to maintain a peaceful and secure environment during and after the planned protest.
