The Adamawa State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting sexual abuse and gender-based violence following the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Abdullaziz Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old girl in Mubi North local government council of the state.
In an official statement, the Command condemned the act, emphasizing the need for parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report individuals with suspicious behavior to law enforcement agencies.
Authorities also confirmed that Mohammed was taken into custody following the alleged assault, and investigations are currently ongoing to ensure justice is served.

The suspect, according to the police, has admitted to have committed the crime.
While condemning the act, the command, according to the statement, have directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, for a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure justice is served.
