Adamawa State has granted automatic employment to 60 engineering graduates who were sponsored to study in India, and have successfully completed their mandatory one-year national service.
The graduates visited the Government House, Yola, to express their gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for the scholarship opportunity that enabled them to study abroad.
Speaking to reporters at the Government House, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Pella, stated that the graduates deeply appreciated the governor’s support in sponsoring their education.
He recalled that the scholarship scheme was introduced in 2020 to assist Adamawa State indigenes in pursuing five-year engineering programme in India.
Dr. Pella noted that the governor, impressed with the students’ performance, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the programme to benefit more indigenes.

He further announced that preparations are underway to send another batch of students to study in China under the next phase of the scholarship programme.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Tahir Sama’ila, expressed appreciation to Gov. Fintiri and his administration for the opportunity to study abroad.
He highlighted the governor’s dedication, stating that while other states abandoned their students, Adamawa State remained committed to fully sponsoring their education.
Sama’ila also encouraged his fellow students to continue striving for excellence and contribute to the development of Adamawa State.
