The Adamawa State Government has relaxed the curfew imposed on Lamurde Local Government Area, allowing residents to move freely between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., effective immediately.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri announced the decision on Tuesday in Yola, the state capital, through his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.
The governor said the review forms part of ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the area following recent unrest.
While easing the restrictions, Governor Fintiri issued a strong warning to individuals responsible for the disturbances, stating that security agencies have identified those involved and that they will face the full weight of the law.

“This gesture shouldn’t be taken lightly. Those behind the violence have been identified and will face consequences. The era of leniency is over; anyone breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
The governor urged law-abiding residents to go about their lawful activities peacefully, assuring them of the government’s commitment to protecting their rights and freedoms.
“The government will protect your rights and freedoms, but won’t hesitate to act against troublemakers,” he added. “You’ve been warned. The government is watching, and justice will be served. Don’t test our patience.”
Governor Fintiri also appealed to all stakeholders to maintain peace and order in Lamurde to prevent a recurrence of violence.
