The Adamawa State Government has appealed to the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to expand the scope of its development projects in the state to further enhance the living conditions of residents.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made the appeal through his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, during a courtesy visit by the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmed, to the Government House in Yola on Monday.
Professor Farauta explained that the influx of people from neighbouring Borno and Yobe states has overstretched infrastructure and public facilities in Adamawa, thereby increasing the need for additional intervention by the commission.
She assured the commission of the state government’s commitment to the judicious use and proper maintenance of all projects executed by the NEDC for their intended purposes.
“When you undertake projects in other states, please do more in Adamawa because of the increasing migration of people into the state,” Farauta said.
Earlier, the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmed, commended the developmental achievements of the Fintiri-led administration, describing them as impressive and devoid of political considerations.

The minister said his visit was part of an inspection and commissioning exercise of NEDC-funded projects in the state, which would later be handed over to the Adamawa State Government.
He disclosed that the projects cut across critical sectors such as education, health, and humanitarian intervention.
According to him, the Fintiri administration deserves continued encouragement and support to sustain its developmental drive.
