The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, has warned youths in the state about the dangers of drug abuse, highlighting its detrimental effects on individuals and society at large.
Prof. Farauta made the appeal during a thank-you visit by the Kodomti community from Numan Local Government Area to celebrate the recent creation of the Kodomti District.
Addressing the gathering, the deputy governor emphasized that drug addiction has led many young people astray, causing them to lose sight of their destinies and potentials.
She urged youths to channel their energy into meaningful activities such as farming, trading, and pursuing education.
“The youths should strive to seek other meaningful and profitable enterprises like farming, trade, and ensure they go to school,” Farauta stated.
The deputy governor also called on traditional rulers and parents to monitor school enrollment and ensure children in their communities are receiving education.
