The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State chapter on Monday hosted its 2026 Easter interdenominational service at St. Theresa’s Cathedral, bringing together a large number of Christians, government officials, and community leaders from across the state.
In his welcome address, the CAN Chairman, Joel Manzo, described the gathering as a significant moment for believers and expressed appreciation to dignitaries in attendance, including the Adamawa State government delegation led by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta.
Manzo подчеркнул that Easter represents more than the resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that it also serves as a symbol of unity among Christians.
He urged believers in Adamawa State to remain committed to prayers for peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence, emphasizing the need for collaboration among the five blocs of CAN to advance both the Church and society.
He further stated that the resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith, encouraging Christians to reflect on its message and rise above divisions.
The CAN chairman also called on Christian political aspirants and leaders to present a united front ahead of the 2027 elections to support the state’s growth and stability.
Delivering the sermon, guest preacher, Gideon Samari spoke on the theme: “The Assurance of Christ’s Resurrection: Our Living Hope,” drawing from the First Epistle of Peter (1:3–5).

He encouraged Christians to anchor their faith on the hope found in Christ’s death and resurrection, urging them to live transformed lives guided by the teachings of the Gospel.
In her goodwill message, Farauta conveyed greetings from the state government and reaffirmed its commitment to peace and development.
She called on Christians to sustain prayers for unity, peace, and progress, noting that collective responsibility remains essential to building a harmonious and prosperous Adamawa State.
