The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has officially commenced medical screening for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Executive Secretary of the commission, Mallam Abubakar Salihu, confirmed that the screening is a compulsory part of the preparation process for the pilgrimage, and includes comprehensive medical assessments and the administration of essential vaccines.

He emphasised that the exercise is crucial in ensuring the health and physical fitness of pilgrims for the spiritually significant and physically demanding journey.

“We are fully committed to the welfare and safety of our pilgrims,” Mallam Salihu stated. “Adequate arrangements have been made to conduct seamless medical screenings across all zones in the state.”

In addition to medical evaluations, the commission has also continued its weekly Hajj orientation programme, designed to educate intending pilgrims on the rites of Hajj, the significance of the journey, and appropriate conduct during the pilgrimage.Adamawa begins medical screening for 2025 Hajj pilgrims

These sessions are facilitated by Islamic scholars and commission officials at designated centres statewide.

Commending the ongoing preparations, Hajj schedule officers from the 21 local government areas led by Alhaji Yau Gambo, praised the executive secretary for his proactive leadership and dedication to the well-being of pilgrims.

They lauded the high level of coordination and timely organisation of this year’s Hajj activities.

Hajj, one of Islam’s five pillars is a sacred duty required of Muslims who are physically and financially able.

The pilgrimage is not only a journey of spiritual cleansing but also a symbol of unity and equality among Muslims, with all pilgrims donning the simple white Ihram garments as a sign of humility and brotherhood.

Beyond the personal spiritual benefits, Hajj commemorates the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hajar, and their son Isma’il, underscoring the themes of faith, sacrifice, and obedience.Adamawa begins medical screening for 2025 Hajj pilgrims

The commission’s thorough preparations reflect a strong commitment to excellence and spiritual upliftment, which has earned it accolades from stakeholders across the state.

This effort has also been bolstered by the steadfast support of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, whose administration continues to provide essential moral and financial backing for a successful Hajj operation.

As the pilgrimage date approaches, the coordinated efforts between the state government and the pilgrims welfare commission are expected to ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling experience for all Adamawa State pilgrims.
