‎Civil servants in Adamawa State can now anticipate the chance to acquire affordable homes, as the state government has sanctioned the sale of 1,000 housing units at the Malkohi Housing Estate in Yola South Local Government Area.
‎
‎This project, which had been stalled for years due to inflation and economic difficulties, has been revitalized and completed under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
‎
‎During a press conference in Yola on Thursday, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Prambe, who led the project committee, described this initiative as a significant advancement in addressing the housing needs of civil servants.
‎
‎The commissioner disclosed that the approved prices for the housing units are ₦9,706,195.47 for a two-bedroom flat and ₦11,708,194.59 for a three-bedroom flat.
‎
‎Prambe stressed the importance of transparency in the allocation process, assuring that offer letters would be issued soon as instructed by the governor.

‎He also mentioned that additional facilities have been approved beyond the initial plan, including perimeter fencing, security posts, a barracks, and modern drainage systems.
‎
‎Additionally, Dauda Galadima, the Managing Director of the Adamawa State Mortgage Bank, confirmed that discussions are ongoing with the Family Homes Fund and the Federal Mortgage Bank to facilitate flexible monthly payments through salary deductions.
‎
‎Dr. Nyalas Batholomew, a representative of the labor union, praised Gov. Fintiri’s dedication to the welfare of workers, emphasizing that affordability is a key factor in the allocation process.
‎
‎”Any worker who can afford the scheme will be given the opportunity to own a home,” he assured.
‎
‎This initiative represents another significant achievement in the Fintiri administration’s efforts to enhance welfare and provide sustainable solutions to housing issues in Adamawa State.
