The Adamawa State government has approved over N4 billion for the reconstruction of the 3.5-kilometre Mubi-Gyela Road, a key route linking major communities in the area.

The approval came during a State Executive Council meeting chaired by Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta on Wednesday.

Briefing journalists afterward, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, said the project underscores Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s ongoing commitment to rural and urban infrastructure development across the state.

He noted that the contract has been awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited, with a scheduled completion period of 12 months, and urged residents to participate actively in monthly environmental sanitation exercises, highlighting their importance for public health and environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Suleiman, explained that due to the road’s severely deteriorated condition, the Mubi-Gyela project will be executed in phases.

He expressed confidence that the contractor’s expertise and track record would ensure timely completion within the stipulated timeframe.

The upgrade of the Mubi-Gyela Road is expected to boost transportation, stimulate local trade, and improve access for residents, marking another step in Adamawa’s broader infrastructure development agenda.
