The Adamawa State Executive Council, during its 18th meeting for 2025, led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, has sanctioned a supplementary budget of N135 billion for the 2025 fiscal year.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, shared this information with reporters following the meeting held in the Government House’s Council Chambers in Yola.
He noted that this new approval increases the state’s total budget from N486.2 billion to N621.2 billion.
Additionally, the council has allocated N14.9 billion for the reconstruction of the 24km Mubi–Maiha road, a project expected to be completed within 15 months.
Furthermore, the council approved N1.2 billion as counterpart funding for the implementation of the 2025 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the conditional grant scheme in the state.

Commissioner for Budget, Mr. Emmanuel Pridimso, explained that the supplementary budget was necessary due to additional revenue generated by the state government, which will facilitate the completion of ongoing projects and the initiation of new ones.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Works and Energy, Adamu Atiku, announced that the Mubi–Maiha Road project has been awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria.
He mentioned that although it is a federal project, the state government felt compelled to intervene to alleviate the hardships faced by its citizens, recalling that the road was last constructed and subsequently abandoned in 2002.
Additionally, the state Focal Person on SDGs, Muhammad Raji, highlighted that counterpart funding will promote development in the state.
He urged the federal government to release its share of funds to ensure the successful execution of these developmental projects.
