Ghanaian actor and entrepreneur, Mr. John Setor Dumelo has been declared the member of parliament-elect for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
This win would mark the first time in 24 years that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has captured this seat in the constituency.
“With 13 polling stations remaining, I can confidently say we have won the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat for the first time in 24 years,” Dumelo stated in an Instagram post on Sunday, December 8, 2024, expressing optimism ahead of the official results.

Since then, social media platforms have been flooded with congratulatory messages from NDC supporters and political enthusiasts.
Mr. Dumelo, who contested on the ticket of the NDC, secured 40,561 votes to beat the incumbent member of parliament, Madam Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who polled 27,377 votes.
