Prominent social critic and activist, Ayesha Yesifu has described Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as an inspiration to Nigerian women, despite the challenges she has faced in the Senate.
Yesifu took to her X handle on Wednesday, to commend the progress Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan has been making, highlighting the positive attention she has received in her fight against what she perceives as governmental ills in legislation, which led to her suspension last month.
The Kogi State senator was suspended for six months in the wake of the sexual harassment allegations she made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

“I woke up this morning feeling more encouraged than ever.
I have been talking about how the legislative branch of government is the bedrock of democracy, and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has shown me what it would be like to have 300 Natashas in the National Assembly. Let’s make this happen, people!” Yesifu said on her X handle.
During a recent visit to her constituency on Tuesday, Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan was warmly received, despite the ban on open rallies put in place by the Kogi State Government in the days leading up to her arrival.
Nevertheless, thousands turned out to welcome her. She expressed her gratitude to her husband for being a great supporter, amidst the travails she has faced in the National Assembly.
