Activist Scott Iguma has raised concerns about the dismal condition of a primary healthcare center designated for pregnant women and children in Ikota, close to Victoria Garden City area of Lagos State.
In a video he shared on Instagram, Scott revealed his shocking discovery during a recent visit to the health facility, where he was appalled by the neglected state of the premises.
He noted that the first impression was alarming, as the main entrance gate was poorly maintained and in dire need of repair, setting the tone for what lay beyond.
“The condition of this primary health center is unacceptable,” Scott emphasized.
“It is meant to serve newborns and children, providing essential immunizations and vaccinations, yet it resembles something from a war zone.

“This is not in a remote area; it’s located close to VGC, an affluent neighborhood in Lagos. It’s disheartening to witness such neglect in a region we often boast is the ‘New York of Nigeria,” he stated.
Scott urged the state commissioner for health to take immediate action to address the alarming state of the health center.
He called for a comprehensive revamp of the facility to meet the health needs of the community it serves and to live up to the standards expected in a major city.
