An activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has called on Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, to prioritize industrialization and implement people-focused initiatives that can generate employment and drive sustainable economic development.
Speaking at a press conference in Asaba, the Delta State capital, Mulade emphasized the urgent need for strategic projects that go beyond infrastructure to directly improve the lives of citizens and tackle youth unemployment.
Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, urged the Oborevwori administration to draw inspiration from governors such as Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State and Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
He specifically referenced the recent launch of Enugu Airlines, despite the state’s significantly smaller revenue base compared to Delta.

“Delta State has greater resources and the capacity to establish its own airline, Delta Airways which would not only boost the economy but also create jobs for our youth,” he said.
While acknowledging the importance of infrastructure, Mulade stressed that job creation through industrialization offers more long-term value, fostering peace and economic resilience.
“I strongly appeal to Sheriff Oborevwori, to prioritize industrialization as a critical strategy to revitalize our weakening economy,” Mulade stated.
“It is also important to review existing policies that are unfriendly to businesses, as they hinder economic growth and investor confidence.”
He called the state government to embrace bold, youth-centered economic reforms that align with Delta’s vast potential and rich resource base.
