An abducted member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has appeared in a new video circulating online, dismissing rumors that he had been killed.
In the footage, the corps member confirmed that he is still alive and appealed for calm, amid widespread speculation about his fate after he was reportedly kidnapped.
The video surfaced days after claims began spreading on social media suggesting that the abducted corps member had been killed by his captors.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama first drew attention to the development, reporting that the victim appeared in the clip to refute the rumours surrounding his alleged death.

The circumstances surrounding the abduction and the identity of those responsible have not been officially confirmed by authorities.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as efforts to secure the release of the abducted corps member continue.
