A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Akanimo Udofia has denied knowledge of any anointed governorship candidate by the state governor, Emmanuel Udom.
He said no one could be said to be closer to the governor than himself while describing Emmanuel as a fair leader of all in the Akwa Ibom PDP family.
Udofia however said he only knew that Gov. Emmanuel preferred Pastor Umor.
The aspirant spoke at the PDP national secretariat, Abuja immediately after returning his completed expression of interest and nomination forms on Thursday.
He said even if he had not participated in elective politics in his 11 years in PDP and does not have a political godfather, he has God almighty as his leader.
According to Udofia, the PDP administration of Emmanuel had recorded many successes in governance and there should be someone who equally has the love of Akwa Ibom people at heart to continue the good works of the government.
He said he believes he has the right resume and ability to continue from Gov. Emmanuel after 2023.
Udofia said “I am not aware that the governor has anointed anyone but he preferred someone. That is not a threat to me because I have no godfather but God the father.”

He said he is the people’s choice because he has been blessing his people from the proceeds of his 32 years of practice in the oil and gas industry.
“I am the only one that God has chosen and I will be the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.
“I want to bring infrastructural and social security and human capital development revolution to the state. I am prepared for the task of governance, The Trumpet gathered.
“I will guarantee the future for peoples because the trust of government would be poverty alleviation, human capital development and link them to the outside world”.
Expressing confidence in the PDP as a credible platform, he said, “the PDP is a bastion of democracy because it represents the conscience of the people”.
