The Delta State Police Command says its officers have arrested suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists, and drug peddlers in separate sting operations across the state, recovering an English pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition and a stash of illicit drugs.
The Command disclosed this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, and made available to journalists on Friday.
According to the statement, the arrests were made in two different operations carried out during the week in Agbor and Ogwashi-Uku.
The police said the suspects failed to provide any explanation for being in possession of the weapon. They were consequently handed over to the State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation.
Led by the squad commander, SP Danyaya Yunusa, the team reportedly arrested 10 adult suspects, including the hotel owner, Markwuye Peter of Ifeanchukwu Street, Agbor.
The statement reads in part; “In a separate operation on 17th September 2025, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ogwashi-Uku Division, CSP Israel Okomoyon, led a joint patrol comprising officers of the division and local vigilantes. During the operation, the team intercepted three young men riding on a motorcycle.

“The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Ibekwe (25), Victor Chibuzor (25), and Zakaria Joro (25), all residents of Ogwashi-Uku, were subjected to a search, which led to the recovery of an English pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition. The suspects failed to provide any satisfactory explanation for having the firearm. Consequently, both the suspects and the recovered exhibits have been transferred to the State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation.
“On 13th September 2025, operatives of the Delta State Eagle Net Special Squad, led by the Commander, SP Danyaya Yunusa, in a joint operation with the Nigeria Hunters Forest Security Service (NHFSS), acting on credible intelligence, stormed a hotel situated along the Asaba/Benin Expressway, Agbor.
“The raid led to the arrest of 10 adult suspects, including Markwuye Peter of Ifeanchukwu Street, Agbor, identified as the owner of the hotel. A substantial quantity of illicit drugs was recovered during the operation. The suspects are currently in custody, while discreet investigations have commenced to unravel the full extent of their criminal activities.”
