Nigerian singer and producer John Saviours Udomboso, widely known as Young Jonn, has revealed that he is not ready to commit to a serious relationship, months after his split from Davido’s cousin, Nikos. The hitmaker bared his mind during an appearance on the Way Up with Angela Yee podcast, where he spoke candidly about love, relationships, and his current emotional state.
Young Jonn admitted that while love is a beautiful thing, he is not in the right space to give himself fully to one person. “Everybody loves love; I mean, love is wonderful. But I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of myself to one person,” he confessed.
He explained that jumping into a serious relationship now would not only put pressure on him but could also be unfair to any partner. “I don’t want a serious relationship now. I feel like I won’t be able to give that person as much as I’m supposed to, so why put them in that situation?” he said.

The decision, he stressed, is rooted in prioritizing his personal growth and emotional balance. Young Jonn suggested that for now, he prefers to keep things light and platonic until he feels truly ready to build a meaningful connection.
This revelation comes after months of speculation surrounding his relationship with Nikos, which ended quietly when the two unfollowed each other on Instagram. While fans had hoped to see the romance blossom, the singer’s recent admission makes it clear that he is focused more on himself and his music than on settling down.
