The Governor of Kaduna state, Uba Sani  has officially launched the reconstruction of the Jaba to Kwoi Road, calling it a crucial route for the economy and a much-needed improvement for the residents of Southern Kaduna.

At the ceremony held in Jaba on Thursday, Sani emphasized that this project is more than just a typical construction job; it is a personal promise to an area that has suffered for too long because of the poor state of the road.

“I understand the struggles you’ve faced for many years due to this road. I’ve experienced the frustration myself,” Sani said. He added that every time he travels this road, he witnesses the community’s challenges and feels their pain.

Sani described the road project as a moral obligation and a commitment to bettering the region. He promised to keep prioritizing the development of rural areas, believing that these improvements can lead to economic growth and bring people together.

Earlier that day, Sani also inaugurated a new access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, highlighting that these two initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to Southern Kaduna.

“Launching two major projects in one day in this region sends a strong message: your development is key to the progress of Kaduna,” he stated.

He stressed the importance of the Jaba-Kwoi Road, which connects vital communities in Southern Kaduna to the Abuja highway and other areas within the state. “This road is not just made of asphalt and gravel. It is a lifeline, a highway that provides hope, linking our hardworking farmers to markets across the country,” he explained.

Sani provided an update on his administration’s wider infrastructure plan, which includes work on 85 roads covering 785 kilometers—44 of which have already been finished. The second stage of this plan aims to develop over 550 kilometers of roads and bridges across more than 50 new projects.

“Today’s ceremony deepens our commitment to transforming rural areas, connecting communities, creating jobs, and securing a better future for everyone,” he added.

Reiterating his dedication to fairness and inclusivity, the governor assured that no community would be overlooked. “We are building a new Kaduna State focused on unity and progress, not division or neglect,” he declared.

Sani urged the people of Jaba and the surrounding areas to see the project as a collective journey towards growth and harmony. “Today’s groundbreaking is more than just the start of a construction project. It symbolizes our belief in the strength of our people, the promise of a better future, and the potential of Kaduna State,” he concluded.
