The Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh Foundation has unveiled a N10 million skill acquisition programme aimed at empowering youths of Igbide community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The initiative was announced by the founder, Chief Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh, who also serves as the Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, during the Igbide Community Annual Conference held on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Obiodeh, widely recognized for his philanthropic contributions, explained that while his earlier interventions focused on educational scholarships, the new scheme would provide practical empowerment by equipping young people with skills and tools to become self-reliant. He said the programme is in line with the “Opportunities for All” pillar of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, and it would benefit both new trainees and those who already possess skills but lack the financial resources to start their businesses.
According to him, beneficiaries will receive starter packs to help them launch their entrepreneurial journey immediately, thereby creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

In a gesture that further shows his commitment to the welfare of his people, Obiodeh also announced the cancellation of a N5 million debt previously granted to the Igbide community for the smooth take-off of the current administration of the kingdom, easing the financial strain on community leaders.
The commissioner emphasized that the skill acquisition programme was conceived as a strategic response to unemployment and dependency among the youths, assuring that the foundation would continue to invest in initiatives that promote self-sufficiency and long-term economic growth in Igbide.
With this new empowerment drive, the Obiodeh Foundation has positioned itself as a key driver of youth development in Delta State, offering Igbide indigenes renewed hope for prosperity through skills, entrepreneurship, and sustainable opportunities.
