Former President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed deep sadness over the passing of the former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, describing him as a dedicated and skilled law enforcement officer.
In a message of condolence shared with newsmen, Jonathan praised Arase for his honourable service to the nation and the important reforms he implemented during his time as the inspector-general of police. Jonathan, who appointed Arase, highlighted his commitment to public safety and human rights.
He noted that during Arase’s leadership, the police experienced significant advancements, particularly in improving relationships with communities and adopting more strategic, intelligence-led approaches to policing.
Jonathan emphasized that Arase’s time in office was characterized by his integrity, humility, and thoughtful leadership.
