Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude has applauded the administration of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for delivering on campaign promises and prioritising the welfare of citizens.
Igbrude, who is the wife of the late former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Young Igbrude, spoke to journalists in Asaba on Monday, shortly after Gov. Oborevwori empowered 10,000 widows in the state through a comprehensive welfare scheme.
She described the initiative as a landmark step in poverty alleviation, noting that each widow will receive N15,000 monthly support in addition to free healthcare services provided by the state government.

Highlighting other achievements, Dame Igbrude pointed to the governor’s investments in road construction and education, stressing that improved infrastructure and bursary payments to students have further demonstrated his commitment to the MORE Agenda.
“Governor Oborevwori has shown that governance is about the people. From massive road projects that are opening up communities to support for education and welfare for widows, his administration is delivering on promises made to Deltans,” she said.
She urged citizens to continue supporting the government’s policies and programmes, while also advising that projects and social interventions be evenly distributed across all 25 local government areas of the state.
She particularly commended Gov. Oborevwori’s administration over the recently approved N275 billion for infrastructure, education, and social welfare initiatives, a move she said reflects a clear vision for inclusive development.
