The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is set to shortlist 41,307 beneficiaries for the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative in September.
Director General of NDE, Silas Agara announced that successful applicants will be informed on September 1st and 2nd, ensuring at least four beneficiaries are selected from each ward across the country.
Previously, Mr. Agara instructed state coordinators in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to begin processing online applications submitted by unemployed Nigerians.
The program aims to assist those unemployed and individuals seeking vocational, digital, agricultural, and entrepreneurial skills for self-sufficiency.
In a press briefing in Abuja few days ago, Mr. Agara stated that the second phase of the initiative has included a larger number of unemployed youth, particularly those with disabilities.

He emphasized that over 41,000 applicants will be chosen for the empowerment training program, which is designed to help alleviate unemployment among the youth population.
This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda to create jobs, reduce poverty, and foster economic growth.
More than 411,000 unemployed Nigerians have registered on the online portal for the second phase of the NDE’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative during the registration period.
Mr. Agara commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in generating employment opportunities for the large number of unemployed youth.
The Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) aims to equip Nigerians with valuable skills, enabling them to become self-employed and contribute positively to the economy.
