The federal government said preparations is in the top gear to recruit and hoc staff for the forthcoming national population census.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has confirmed that they are actively working on preparations to ensure the success of the census, which is anticipated to generate thousands of temporary job opportunities for Nigerian youth.

The recruitment will be announced for positions as ‘ad-hoc staff’ at various levels.

This information was shared today, August 13, 2025, by the NPC Commissioner for Kaduna State, Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba, via a post on her official Facebook page.

She stated: “Census coming soon! Insha Allah… All youths should bring their CVs, Insha Allah.”

This announcement serves as a prompt for the youths to start preparing their job application materials in advance to take advantage of the temporary employment opportunities that will arise during the census.

These positions will provide participants with a chance to earn income, gain valuable work experience, and contribute to a significant national initiative.

She emphasized that the upcoming census is not merely a headcount, but a crucial national activity aimed at collecting accurate demographic data that will inform government policies in sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

The NPC has indicated that it will employ modern technology and digital tools during the process to ensure accurate, transparent, and reliable data collection.

For many young individuals, this announcement presents a timely opportunity to secure short-term employment in a government-supported project.

As preparations ramp up, youths across Nigeria are encouraged to prepare their CVs and stay updated on the recruitment process.

It is anticipated that some individuals may attempt to exploit this information to mislead unsuspecting candidates.

Therefore, interested applicants are advised to rely solely on announcements from official sources in the coming days, particularly from the NPC.
