Newcastle is engaged in advanced talks with Aston Villa about acquiring midfielder Jacob Ramsey, who is expected to have important discussions with the Midlands club within the next 24 hours.
The two teams are negotiating a transfer for Ramsey to join St James’ Park before the transfer window closes, with an agreement reportedly close to being finalized.
The 24-year-old will speak with Villa before making a decision about his future, as Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe is eager to secure his services.
Reports shows that the agreement will be sealed if the clubs and the former England U21 midfielder accepted to leave. The player will then negotiate personal terms with the Magpies.

Ramsey has also attracted significant interest from West Ham this summer, but if he departs Villa Park, it is believed that Newcastle is his preferred choice.
Since making his senior debut in 2019, he has scored 17 goals in 167 appearances for Villa and was a regular starter for Unai Emery’s team last season.
This summer, Newcastle has completed two permanent signings: winger Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest and defender Malick Thiaw from AC Milan, while goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has joined the Magpies on loan from Southampton.
