The political scene in Delta State has been thrown into turmoil as Hon. (Barr.) Possible Ajede, Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, faces a shock suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 10, Obiaruku. The move, announced in a letter dated August 12, 2025, accuses the embattled chairman of gross misconduct, violation of party rules, and actions capable of tarnishing the APC’s image.
The suspension notice, signed by APC Ward 10 Chairman Mr. Akpotowho Chukwudi and backed by the ward executive committee, lists a damning series of allegations against Ajede. According to the letter, since defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, Ajede allegedly abandoned key party activities, failed to attend ward meetings, and repeatedly disregarded directives from the APC LGA leadership.
He is also accused of convening unauthorised stakeholder meetings at the Ukwuani Council Hall and Elomaz Event Centre in Asaba, allegedly usurping the constitutional powers of the APC LGA Chairman. In a more serious claim, the ward leadership alleges that Ajede circulated forged documents to announce the suspension of the APC LGA Chairman, a move they say misled the public and damaged the party’s reputation.

The ward executive has imposed a three-month suspension on Ajede, during which he will be barred from all party-related activities. A disciplinary committee has also been set up to conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations. The letter emphasised that the decision was taken “in line with the APC Constitution and the mandate of the Ward Executive to uphold party discipline and integrity.”
The suspension notice has been widely circulated to key political figures, including APC Delta State Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie, Delta State Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Ned Nwoko, and other top party leaders.
As of the time of filing this report, Hon. Ajede has not released any public statement responding to his suspension, leaving the political climate in Ukwuani tense and speculation at fever pitch.
