Isoko North Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba, has empowered the first batch of beneficiaries from the council’s Digital Skills Training Programme, handing out laptops and cash support to help them kick-start their tech-driven careers.
Speaking at the official presentation ceremony, Ogorugba reaffirmed that the initiative is in line with Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which prioritizes economic growth, skills acquisition, and citizen empowerment.
“Our administration is fully committed to giving our people the tools to succeed. This skills programme is one of many steps we have taken to create economic opportunities and build self-reliance among our citizens,” Ogorugba said, urging beneficiaries to put their new skills to work in ways that would boost both their income and confidence.
He also revealed that an empowerment programme for elderly women will be launched soon, once ongoing council projects are completed and commissioned.
Ogorugba highlighted key achievements since assuming office, including improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment initiatives aimed at lifting more residents out of poverty.
