Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has urged legal practitioners to uphold impartiality and fairness in the delivery of justice, stressing the vital role lawyers play in protecting the rights of the common man.
She made the call on Thursday while declaring open the 2025 North East Regional Conference of the Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) held in Yola. The four-day conference, themed “Thine is the Kingdom”, brought together Christian legal professionals from across the region.
Professor Farauta challenged lawyers to reflect the image of Christ in their professional lives and to act as advocates of justice without fear or favour.

“The common man looks up to you for transparent and unbiased justice—whether in the courtroom or beyond,” she stated, calling on the judiciary to remain a pillar of fairness, equity, and integrity.
Former Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Nathan Musa, also addressed the gathering, describing the conference as a platform for Christian lawyers to strengthen both their legal practice and spiritual foundation. He urged participants to be bold in their faith and allow their Christian values to guide their conduct.
In his remarks, the National President of CLASFON, Pastor Femi David Ikotun, represented by Vice President Paul Hammache, charged Christian lawyers to remain steadfast in upholding moral values and justice in a time of rising ethical challenges.
“Speak truth to power when power forgets justice,” he said. “Train successors for deeper kingdom alignment. Your professional pursuit must be connected to your spiritual identity.”
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of the 2025 edition of Sound Counsel magazine, a publication of CLASFON.
