Troops from ‘Operation Whirl Stroke’ (OPWS) have rescued two police inspectors and nine other victims who were kidnapped in Benue State.

The commander of OPWS, Maj. Gen. Moses Gara shared the rescue details during a press conference in Makurdi on Monday.

He reported that the operation took place over the weekend, targeting areas known for recent abductions in the Sankara region, which includes local government areas like Kastina-Ala, Ukum, and Logo.

The troops also arrested two suspects during the raid, who are currently being questioned.

Additionally, a significant number of weapons and ammunition were seized, including several rifles and a machine gun.
