NDLEA arrests 3 dispatch riders for distributing drugs in Abuja

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended three delivery riders suspected of distributing illegal drugs in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, said the arrests took place following organized stop-and-search operations in areas like Gwarimpa, Jahi, and Galadimawa on July 30.

The arrested dispatch riders were identified as Sabo Sule, Samuel Nnamdi and Idris Jibrin.

The NDLEA revealed that it recovered nearly 150 grams of a potent form of cannabis known as Canadian Loud from the three suspects.

Additionally, two other suspects, Aliyu Abubakar and Adekunle Agbabiaka were arrested on August 2, along the Abaji-Gwagwalada Expressway with more than 91 kilograms of another cannabis strain.

In Lagos, NDLEA officers acted on specific intelligence and arrested Joseph Michael, who was found with about 3.3 kilograms of a synthetic cannabis called colorado.

Another drug dealer, Ibrahim Sulaiman, was also caught in Yaba with 16.5 liters of a type of cannabis drink.

In Benue State, the NDLEA seized over 100,000 tramadol pills from a suspect, named Hussein Yusuf at an NDLEA checkpoint.

In Edo State, a raid at a warehouse in Ekpoma led to the arrest of William Alabi, with over 233 kilograms of cannabis.

Babafemi emphasized that the agency continues to raise awareness about drug abuse across the country.

Recently, the agency held educational sessions at schools, places of worship, and community gatherings in various states, including Yobe, Sokoto, Borno, and Enugu.
