During the graduation ceremony, Air Vice Marshal Dalhat Ladan, representing the Chief of Air Intelligence, highlighted the significance of the initiative.

Air Commodore E.C. Ukpong, the Director of Counter Intelligence and Security, noted that the intermediate Chinese Language course course constitutes a strategic investment in NAF’s global engagement abilities and operational effectiveness.

By equipping personnel with language skills and cultural understanding, the NAF aims to enhance its capacity for international collaboration in defence matters.

The ceremony featured an address by Mr. Liu Zhanping, the Deputy Director of the China Cultural Centre, who commended the NAF for its proactive approach to military diplomacy.

He remarked that “language is not merely a tool; it is a gateway to mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation.”

The event also acknowledged the contributions of Ms. Zhang Yaping, the lead Chinese instructor, who received special commendation for her exemplary guidance in facilitating both linguistic proficiency and cultural immersion.

Her dedication has been instrumental in bridging the cultural gaps between Nigerian and Chinese military traditions.

The graduation ceremony not only marked the end of a significant learning journey for the participants, but also symbolized the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Nigeria and China.

The partnership encompasses a wide range of collaborative efforts in defense, capacity building, and enhancing people-to-people ties, thereby reinforcing the foundation for future cooperative endeavors in military and diplomatic spheres.
