AC Milan has officially completed the signing of Ecuadorian left-back Pervis Estupiñán from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £17 million, including performance-based add-ons. The 27-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the San Siro until 2030.
Estupiñán leaves Brighton after two impressive seasons, where he quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic defenders. Since joining from Spanish side Villarreal in 2022, the South American full-back made 104 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring five goals and playing a pivotal role in the club’s historic qualification for European football for the first time in 2023.
Although Brighton’s European journey ended in the Round of 16 against Roma, Estupiñán’s contributions throughout the campaign earned him praise across the continent. Last season, he featured in 34 matches, helping Brighton secure an eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler expressed his admiration for the departing player, saying, “I’ve enjoyed working with Pervis. He’s had a huge impact on our team and the club overall. He’s now reached a point in his career where he’s ready for a new challenge, and Serie A presents the right stage for him to continue growing.”
Estupiñán’s journey to the top has been anything but ordinary. After arriving in England in 2016 to sign with Watford, he failed to break into the first team and spent several years on loan before making a name for himself at Villarreal. There, he was instrumental in their 2021 Europa League triumph over Manchester United, a moment that solidified his reputation as a top-tier left-back.
Now, the Ecuadorian international is set to begin a new chapter with Italian giants AC Milan, where he’s expected to fill the void left by outgoing defenders and bring added pace and energy to the Rossoneri’s backline.
The transfer marks yet another high-profile departure from Brighton, but for Estupiñán, it’s a major leap into one of Europe’s most storied football institutions, and a chance to shine on the Serie A and Champions League stage.
