The Delta State Internal Revenue Service (IRS), says it achieved a landmark performance in respect of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the first half of the 2025 fiscal year.

Executive Chairman of the board, Solomon Ighrakpata, who disclosed this in a statement, said over N104 billion was collected for the period January to June 2025.

Ighrakpata stated that the collected revenue is against the over N78 billion collected for the same period in 2024, with a positive variance of N26 billion or 133.41 percent performance.

He explained that with the cumulative IGR collection figure of over N104 billion for the period January to June 2025, the revenue service has achieved approximately 77.62 percent of its annual revenue target of N134 billion estimated in the 2025 budget.

Ighrakpata stated that the board is very hopeful of surpassing the revenue target at the end of the 2025 fiscal year.

The executive chairman attributed the factors responsible for the success story to include, judicious use of taxpayers’ monies to execute landmark projects across the three senatorial districts of the state by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and teamwork by board members and the management of the revenue service.

Ighrakpata also paid tribute to the technical support by lead consultants to the revenue service, the ICMA Professional Services and Zopaz Advisory Services for their commitment to IGR drives in the state.
