The final burial rites for the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, are scheduled to take place this evening, Monday, July 14, 2025.
Oba Adetona, who ascended to the throne in 1960 and served with distinction for over six decades, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Sunday.
According to an official statement issued by the Ogun State government, the ceremonial farewell will occur at the dignified setting of Ogbagba Court, located in Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode, commencing at precisely 4 pm.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tokunbo Talabi, appealed to residents across the state to keep the bereaved families of the late monarch in their thoughts and prayers during this profoundly emotional time.
