Genk has reportedly set an impressive €25 million (approximately N45 billion) asking price for their star striker Tolu Arokodare, indicating their desire to take advantage of the increasing interest from top European clubs.
The Super Eagles forward has become a key target for AC Milan, while Premier League clubs Fulham and Burnley have also expressed interest in his availability, according to Het Laatste Nieuws, via voetbalnieuws.
This substantial valuation could potentially allow Genk to break their previous transfer record of €25 million, which was established when Sheffield United acquired Sander Berge in 2020.
Genk’s summer transfer activity has been relatively quiet, with only two new signings, Daan Heymans and Tobias Lawal, adding to the squad.
The club has focused on keeping their core players, with manager Thorsten Fink stressing the importance of squad stability at the Cegeka Arena.
However, exceptions were made for Arokodare and Zakaria El Ouahdi, who were both allowed to leave if attractive offers came in.
While El Ouahdi remains with the team, Arokodare’s potential exit is gaining considerable momentum.
AC Milan, still on the lookout for a reliable striker to enhance their attack, has reportedly started discussions with Genk.

The Rossoneri view Arokodare as an exciting option to strengthen their forward line, but they are facing tough competition from England.
The interest from Fulham and Burnley has improved Genk’s bargaining position, enabling the Limburg-based club to demand a higher price for their star player.
“It’s quite possible that the club record will be broken,” a source close to the negotiations told HLN, highlighting Genk’s ambition to maximize the transfer fee.
Arokodare’s rapid rise to prominence has been remarkable. The 24-year-old’s physicality, goal-scoring ability, and versatility have made him a standout player in the Belgian Pro League, attracting scouts from all over Europe.
A potential move to a club of AC Milan’s caliber would represent a significant advancement in his career, while a transfer to the Premier League would allow him to compete in one of the world’s most prestigious leagues.
