United States President Donald Trump is once again exchanging barbs with Elon Musk, this time threatening to turn his former department against him as the SpaceX founder continues to criticize Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

In a rant on Truth Social on Monday night, Trump expressed his frustration with Musk’s remarks and appeared to be making a power move regarding the situation.

He criticized his former ally’s advocacy for electric vehicles and reminded Musk of the substantial government support he receives.

Trump stated that “Elon may receive more subsidies than anyone else in history, and without them, he would likely have to shut down and return to South Africa.”

He then brought up DOGE, saying, “no more rocket launches, satellites, or electric car production, and our country would save a fortune. Maybe we should have DOGE take a serious look at this? huge savings”

Trump’s anger followed Musk’s warnings on X about the Big Beautiful Bill, which outlines the president’s plans for taxes, healthcare, immigration, energy, and more.

Over the weekend, Musk urged people to consider the consequences of the proposed legislation, warning it would cause “immense strategic harm” to the U.S. and “destroy millions of jobs.”

He also argued that the bill would hinder the nation’s progress by providing “handouts to outdated industries while severely damaging future industries.”

In subsequent tweets on Monday night, Musk continued to voice his concerns and announced plans to create a new political party to distance himself from the so-called “Porky Pig Party” if the bill passes.

He labeled anyone supporting the Big Beautiful Bill as dishonest, claiming it would increase the American deficit by $5 trillion instead of reducing it.

In typical Musk fashion, he included a photo of Pinocchio with his pants on fire to emphasize his point.

This is not the first time Trump and Musk have clashed on social media.

Just weeks ago, they exchanged heated insults after Trump distanced himself from DOGE and began questioning Musk’s policies.

Musk suggested that Trump wouldn’t win the 2024 election without his support, to which Trump responded by threatening to cut his government funding.

Despite Trump previously stating that Musk was not a concern for him after their initial clash, it appears Musk is occupying some space in Trump’s thoughts after all.
