Prominent Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, has passed away at the age of 94.
He died after a prolonged illness.
The Deputy National Treasurer of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, Uba Tanko Mijinyawa, confirmed the incident via his Facebook social media handle.
He said, “Inna Lillahi wa’inna ilaihi Raji’un, God has passed away our father, Alh. Aminu Alhassan Dantata. We pray God have mercy on him and forgive him.”

Dantata, a towering figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, was widely respected for his contributions to commerce and community development in Northern Nigeria.
Dantata once served in the Kano State Government and was a member of the Constitution Drafting Committee responsible for preparing Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
However his funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
