President Bola Tinubu has promised to enhance urban development and the overall quality of life for residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He made this commitment during a ceremony where he officially opened the newly built Collector Road CN2, also known as Zakari A. Kyari Street, along with other roads in the FCT.
This commissioning was part of the event lined up to mark his two-year anniversary in office.
The new road connects key neighbourhoods, improving access between Mabushi District and the Judges Quarters in Katampe District.
Tinubu, represented by Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, emphasized that his government plans to continue investing in essential infrastructure, including roads, bridges, housing, transportation, education, and healthcare.
He stated that “we want every Nigerian to feel the positive effects of good governance. We are committed to building projects that will make life better for our citizens.”
He also highlighted that investing in infrastructure is crucial for the country’s growth.

Tinubu praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and his team for their focus on delivering these infrastructure projects.
He urged local residents to take care of the new roads.
Wike explained that the construction of the roads began in October 2024 and were completed in about nine months.
He added that the roads will not only make getting around easier but will also boost the local economy, especially increasing the value of land in the area, which is good news for landowners.
In summary, Wike credited the successful infrastructure development in the FCT to the ongoing support from President Tinubu.
Mr. Richard Dauda, the acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, mentioned that the CN2 road features two lanes in each direction, and the projects aim to support growth in Katampe District and its surrounding areas.
