The leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uvwie Local Government Area have come together, putting past differences aside, and vowed to work united under the leadership of Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON.
The historic resolution, which followed a high-level unity meeting held at Keyamo’s residence, marks a pivotal moment for APC in Uvwie; a region once plagued by internal discord. In an official statement, the party’s key figures, including Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS) Executive Chairman, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, and Uvwie LGA Chairman, Chief Anthony Ofoni, declared their commitment to a new era of cohesion.
“We have decided to put all past differences behind us and begin anew,” the statement reads, signed by Keyamo and other influential party leaders.
A core theme of the unity meeting was inclusivity. In an unprecedented move, the APC leadership in Uvwie declared that “there are no old or new members,” reinforcing the idea that all members, regardless of their history with the party, are entitled to the same privileges and opportunities. This move signals a fresh start for the party, as it works to galvanize support across the local government area.

The leaders also emphasized that the Uvwie Kingdom would now speak with one voice under the banner of APC, marking a significant shift in the region’s political landscape. The decision is seen as a direct response to years of internal division, as the APC seeks to present a united front going into future elections.
In a further display of unity, the leaders issued a Vote of Confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and expressed their unwavering support for Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, praising his administration as “a performing Executive Governor.”
The resolution was jointly endorsed by all 10 APC ward chairmen in Uvwie, ensuring broad grassroots support and signaling a deep commitment to party unity.
