Nollywood actress Abiola Adebayo has confirmed the news of her separation from her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde.
She revealed that they had split over a year ago and are now focused on co-parenting their son together.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Abiola wished her ex-husband a happy birthday, using the occasion to publicly acknowledge their separation, which happened in April 2024.
She expressed her hopes for his happiness and well-being, praying that he finds peace and blessings in his life.
Abiola shared that this is her first time openly discussing their break-up, stating that “yes, you heard me right! We’ve been apart since April last year, but we are committed to co-parenting our precious son, who is everything to us.”
She also apologized to her followers for any disappointment they may feel, expressing that while she wished their marriage had worked out, it’s essential to prioritize their well-being.

The actress talked about the emotional challenges she has faced over the past year, noting that even though she tries to appear cheerful in public, she has struggled with sadness at home.
“I spend many nights in tears, but I find strength in my faith,” she wrote, encouraging kindness and understanding towards others, as everyone has their own struggles,” she added.
Many fans and fellow actors praised Abiola for her bravery and maturity during this difficult time.
Regina Chukwu, a fellow actress, offered her support, saying “Biola… It’s well.”
In a previous interview, Abiola explained that she and Oluwaseyi had a short courtship before getting married in April 2021.
They welcomed their first child, a son, in April 2023 through a surrogate mother.
